TK’s Judoka, Matthew Brings Home Silver and Gold

The Jagsport 2015 Invitational Judo Championship was held on 20-22 November. This was the tournament's 11th edition, with participants representing Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia and Bhutan.

One of our TK Grade 6 students, Matthew, participated in the event, in both the individual and team competitions. He won the silver medal in the individual competition, with three wins from four bouts (he lost one on technical points). En route to the silver medal, Matthew defeated opponents from Indonesia and Philippines.

Next, he fought in the team competition, which consisted of five teams with three players each. The team competition saw each player face an opponent in the same weight category from the opposing team. Matthew won all four of his bouts, while his teammates won all but one, securing them a gold medal and a very impressive cup.
