Great Season 1 for Husky Runners!
by Ryan Sayer and Melanie Killens, 10U-14U Cross Country Coaches -
We had an enthusiastic and committed group of runners for Season 1 Cross Country. Their dedication was shown by waking up bright and early every Tuesday and Thursday morning for an hour run around the nearby Jurong Lake.
Runners cheered each other on during training sessions, time trials, and the ACSIS City Championships at the Bedok Reservoir. While all runners put in a valiant effort at Bedok, Natasha Dingley placed 3rd in the 14U Girls race and Dominique Deelchand placed 8th in the 10U Girls competition, congratulations ladies! Unfortunately, the weather played a large factor in our training, both during the season and in the final race, and as a result the 12U Boys and Girls races were cancelled.
All students maintained a very positive vibe throughout the season despite the setbacks, and are now looking forward to next year. We finished the season off magnificently, with one final set of time trials around Jurong Lake and a great Lakeside breakfast provided by parents. It was astonishing to see how much runners improved over the season! Great work everyone. Go Huskies!
