On Saturday 30 May, Grade 5 student Ryan Chapman competed in the second round of the Rok Cup Asia at the KF1 Karting Track in Kranji. The Rok Cup is an internationally run karting championship with a drive at the finals in Italy up for grabs.

During the round Ryan was fastest in qualifying, which meant he started the first race in pole position. After a great start, he led until the chequered flag to record a win as well as setting the fastest lap time. His finishing position determined his starting position for the final. After dropping to third at the start, he drove a patient and determined race and Ryan made his way to the front of the pack where he managed to pull away and finish the race with a decent sized gap back to second. Once again setting the fastest lap time.

Please read more about Ryan’s exceptional accomplishment in this local newspaper article.

Congratulations to Ryan for showing great skill, speed and determination to win the round. Good luck for round three.
