Grade 6’s Abigail earns SOTA commendation

Congratulations to Lakeside grade 6 student, Abigail H, on earning a commendation in the SOTA (School of the Arts Singapore) Primary 6 Art Competition. 650 students from over 140 primary schools in Singapore submitted their artwork and only 50 received commendations. Portraits of kindness

Who would have thought that a simple portrait could make someone so happy? As an extension of CIS’s visual arts programme, secondary students had the opportunity to participate in a meaningful CCA called the Memory Project. This CCA sees students creating and donating portraits to disadvantaged youth around the world. We speak with Liz Sarich, visual arts MYP teacher, to find out more.
